For the first time in Canadian surf history, we see not one but two medals brought home from an international competition. 14 year old Mathea Olin, took out Gold in the Women's Longboard, and Bronze in the Women's Shortboard at the Pan American Surfing Games in Peru this December. Team Canada finished fourth in the national rankings!
Our team riders found the competition a great learning experience, by getting to know the wave and how to surf with priority on a perfect a-frame reef. The Pan American Surfing Championships in 2019 will be a strong stand towards the team's campaign for Surfing's debut at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
Hanna Scott, and co-Storm team surfers will get another chance in 2018 at the next ISA’s in September and the next Pan Am games in November.
