Our Story

The Storm Philosophy

The goal is simple: get you in the water feeling safe, informed, and stoked.
Whether it's your first time or your fiftieth, we're here to make sure you leave with the right gear and the right information. Built by surfers, for surfers, or anyone who's ever felt the pull of the ocean. Whether you're shopping for a wetsuit, a t-shirt, or just coming in to say hey — we're stoked for all of it.

Since 1997.

Long before our current home on Campbell Street, Storm put up shop in what is now Tofino's laundromat. It was 1997, and Tofino was still a well-kept secret, less the few dedicated PNW surfers, whispering about a wave north island.

What started as a place to get your gear sorted became something more: a gathering point for anyone who felt the pull of the Pacific. Friends, locals, travellers passing through.

Built by Friends and Family

Storm has never been a corporate surf shop. It has been kept alive by friends, family, and a rotating cast of locals and regulars who care too much about this place to let it go. That's the honest reason it's still here.
